The Organ Method: The staggeringly talented keyboard player-composer-engineer Doug Organ (who’s toured with Grammy nominees Antibalas) is back in Edmonton from sunny L.A., guest lecturing at MacEwan University on his techniques and philosophy. While that’s sadly not open to the public, sweet news is he’s also playing a few shows around town, jumping in with both The Superband for the first time since 2015 and Stew Kirkwood’s The Almighty Turtlenecks at the Commerical Saturday. Ghostbusters (1984): Even if you didn’t manage to get tickets to John Waters Saturday night, you can still haunt Garneau Theatre that afternoon cackling with laughter at what I’d say is the best comedy of all time. Ivan Reitman’s total classic sees Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and of course Rick Moranis in top form, and as a special bonus, the Alberta Ghostbusters cosplay organization will be selling merch and photo ops raising money for Stollery Children’s Hospital. Kids 12 and under get in free, too!
