City police are releasing a composite sketch of a male suspect wanted in connection with a sexual assault that occurred in Edmonton’s Mill Creek Ravine last weekend.
In a Wednesday news release, police said a 33-year-old woman was out for an afternoon walk on Dec. 9 along the eastern edge of the ravine near 95 Street and 86 Avenue when she was approached by a strange man, who grabbed her, pinned her against a tree and sexually assaulted her.

The woman was able to escape back to the Peace Mile parking lot located north of 82 Avenue and 95A Street, roughly one kilometre away from where the assault took place.
Police describe the suspect as a white man in his 50s standing five-feet-10 inches tall with a medium build and white hair with dark streaks on the side. He was said to be wearing a black zip-up puffer jacket, light blue jeans and running shoes, black and white in colour, during the time of the assault.
Investigators are asking any residents of the area with external video cameras or visitors who may have cellphone video to contact the EPS by calling 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone.
