City police have released more surveillance video of suspects in an extortion series they have dubbed Project Gaslight.

Recently, search warrants were conducted at two separate residences in south Edmonton and Beaumont, said police in a Wednesday release.

Investigators seized items related to the investigation, and arrested and interviewed two suspects. Charges haven’t been laid in relation to the search warrants. The investigation continues and investigators are now releasing more images and video to seek tips from the public, to help identify suspects and a suspect vehicle in connection to several incidents in December.

Police from the Project Gaslight team are investigating 34 events related to an ongoing extortion series that has deeply impacted the South Asian community in Edmonton since October.

No injuries have been reported as a result of the shootings, but an estimated $10 million in property damage has been reported as a result of the arsons and shootings.

“Our recent efforts to identify suspects and collect information about their activities have been very helpful in advancing this investigation, and we are starting to get a very clear picture of the hierarchy of this group,” said Staff Sgt. David Paton, with the EPS drug and gang enforcement section, in a release.

In one video on Dec. 15, two male suspects are seen filling up and buying gas cans at a Petro-Canada located at 351 Allard Way SW. The suspects have since been identified, but police are looking for more information about the two suspects’ activities on that date.

Another video from Dec. 15 shows a red car captured on camera near the scene of an arson at Cy Becker Road and 48 Street on Dec. 16. Police are seeking tips about this vehicle.
