As for the general forecast, Wednesday will bring gusts of 40 km/h winds and a high of 4 C, with a wind chill of -8. Thursday is set to be much the same, despite winds dropping down to 15 km/h, with a high of 1 C but a wind chill of -13.
Thankfully this flash freeze won’t last, with temperatures climbing day by day. We’ll just have to tough it out for a couple days, like we always do!
Poor Road Conditions
Last night’s snowfall has created dangerous road conditions across the province, and RCMP are warning Albertans to drive cautiously.
Police closed three lanes on Calgary Trail southbound at Ellerslie Road. Wednesday morning after a single vehicle rollover involving a semi tractor trailer. Traffic is reduced to one lane and is moving slowly through the area.
Elsewhere in the province, Innisfail RCMP sent an advisory Wednesday morning informing drivers of poor road conditions on Highway 2, starting North of Innisfail and spreading to the just south of Bowden. The roads are covered in ice and snow, resulting in multiple collisions and vehicles driving off the road. No injuries have been reported so far.
