It continues its plan, arriving late and gently, rather. Some dusting, some fluff, a powder puff. Flurries to come, noonish Saturday, the high -7 C.

Then, the creep down, the dip to -18 C overnight, ushering in a wind chill not felt since last year’s depths, minus 25.

That’s just the weekend warm up. The hammer drops mid-week, with snowfall Tuesday before a nighttime visit in the -32 range — with snow — come Wednesday and a mocking high of -30 C Thursday, the overnight low, -34 C.

Bitter weather, let it breed, strength of character, in good stead.
