Hinton man facing 19 charges after police seize firearms, drugs and stolen property

Police in Hinton have charged a 45-year-old man with 19 offences related to stolen property, firearms and drug-related charges.

On Monday, at 6 p.m. Hinton RCMP were notified of a break and enter, and a search warrant was issued for an industrial bay in Hinton, said police in a release.

Inside the bay was a large quantity of stolen property at an estimated value of $75,000 as well as stolen firearms, ammunition and illegal weapons.

A man was arrested at the scene. After a search, police seized a further 25 grams of methamphetamine, 40 grams of cocaine and 15 grams of fentanyl.

Michael Moore, 45, of Hinton is charged with five counts of possession of stolen property, four counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm, three counts of unsafe storage of a firearm, three counts of possession with the purpose of trafficking, uttering threats, possession of weapon obtained by crime, possession of stolen property under $5,000 and possession of a firearm with a tampered serial number.

Moore was remanded into custody and his next court appearance is set for May 21 in Hinton.
