Mounties on Monday afternoon were continuing to search for a man wanted in connection to an abduction in Saddle Lake on Sunday night.

St. Paul RCMP received a report of a break enter and assault at a home on Saddle Lake around 10 p.m. Sunday, said a Monday news release from police.

Upon arrival, officers found signs that a couple had been assaulted. One of the victims, 49-year-old Corinne Steinhauer, was taken against her will, said RCMP. She was later found unharmed.

Police are searching for Conrad Edward Cardinal, 37, who had fled the area in a yellow school bus. The bus was eventually found abandoned.

Cardinal is currently wanted for multiple Criminal Code offences and is considered violent and dangerous. Persons with information about his whereabouts are asked to call 911 immediately. If you have information about this crime, call St. Paul RCMP at 780-645-8888.
